Engineering Context
The MMA1Z00-NS400 provides 400Gb/s NDR InfiniBand connectivity using 8x 50Gb/s PAM4 lanes over 850nm VCSEL optics. The MPO12 APC connector enables up to 50 meters of reach over OM4 multimode fiber, bridging the gap between short-reach passive copper DACs (max ~2m at NDR) and long-reach single-mode optics. Unlike fixed AOC cables, this pluggable transceiver allows independent replacement of optics and fiber patch cords, reducing maintenance costs in large-scale deployments.

Verify port compatibility with your platform documentation. MPO12 APC Fiber: Requires MPO12 APC terminated multimode fiber patch cords. Not compatible with MPO24 or LC connectors without breakout. Multimode Only: 850nm VCSEL operates over OM3/OM4 multimode fiber. Not compatible with single-mode fiber. For single-mode long-reach, use MMS4X00-NS variants.
