The V003 variant uses 26AWG conductors to support its 3m reach without active equalization. There is no FEC retimer, no electronics, and no power draw. The MCP7H50 family bridges the HDR/200GbE generation to two HDR100 / 100GbE endpoints, doubling effective port density on the 200Gb/s side. The 200Gb/s QSFP56 end carries 4 lanes of 50Gb/s PAM4 signaling. Each 100Gb/s QSFP56 end carries 2 lanes of 50Gb/s PAM4 (HDR100). At 3m, the heavier 26AWG conductors are required to maintain signal integrity over the full passive run. The cable adds no end-to-end latency beyond propagation delay, draws 0W, and contains no diagnostic firmware.
