Engineering Context
The card runs over a PCIe 4.0 x16 host interface, providing approximately 31.5 GB/s of usable host bandwidth — sufficient to fully saturate the 200Gb/s HDR port without PCIe back-pressure. ConnectX-6 silicon implements RDMA, GPUDirect RDMA for direct GPU-to-fabric DMA, hardware tag matching for MPI, adaptive routing on the InfiniBand side, and SHARP (Scalable Hierarchical Aggregation and Reduction Protocol) collective offload when paired with NVIDIA Quantum HDR switches. End-to-end MPI half round-trip latency is sub-microsecond between two HDR-equipped nodes on a Quantum fabric. The crypto engine is disabled on this -AN SKU.
