The switch port MUST be configured for OSFP split / twin-port operation; default single-port 400G mode will not enable the second leg. This is primarily an InfiniBand NDR cable — Ethernet (800GbE / 400GbE) operation depends on switch firmware and port mode and should be verified. This is a splitter, not a straight cable; for 800G-to-800G straight runs, use the MCP4Y10 family. Both 400G legs should be connected to fully utilize the 800G switch port.
