NVIDIA Mellanox® MCP7H60-W01A (NVIDIA P/N 980-9IA3V-00W01A) is a passive copper splitter DAC that breaks one 400GbE QSFP-DD port into two independent 200GbE QSFP56 ports. It IS an Ethernet splitter cable; it IS NOT an InfiniBand HDR/NDR cable, an active or optical cable, or a 1:1 point-to-point DAC. Condition: New.
Engineering Context. The QSFP-DD side carries 8 lanes of 50Gb/s PAM4 (400GbE aggregate). Each QSFP56 leg receives 4 lanes of 50Gb/s PAM4 = 200GbE. Conductor is 26AWG twinax with an LSZH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen) jacket. Length is 1.5m. As a passive copper cable, it draws no host power for the cable assembly itself and adds negligible latency.
Deployment & Use Cases. Used to double the effective Ethernet port density of a Spectrum-3 / Spectrum-4 leaf switch by running one 400GbE QSFP-DD port to two 200GbE-capable NICs (e.g., ConnectX-6 Dx in 200GbE mode). Typical workloads: dense leaf-to-server fan-out, virtualization clusters with 200GbE-attached hosts, and east-west aggregation in AI / HPC Ethernet fabrics.
Technical Specifications.

Compatibility & Constraints. Compatible with NVIDIA Spectrum-3 / Spectrum-4 QSFP-DD switch ports on the trunk side and 200GbE QSFP56 endpoints (e.g., ConnectX-6 Dx) on the leg side. NOT compatible with InfiniBand HDR or NDR fabrics, OSFP ports, QSFP112 cages, or 100GbE QSFP28-only NICs. Reach is fixed at 1.5m as a passive copper splitter.
