NVIDIA Mellanox MCP7H60-W003R26 400GbE QSFP-DD to 2x 200GbE QSFP56 Passive Copper Splitter Cable, 3m, 26AWG: This is a passive copper direct attach (DAC) splitter cable that breaks one 400GbE QSFP-DD port into two 200GbE QSFP56 connections. The total length is 3 meters with 26AWG copper conductors. This is a passive 1-to-2 breakout cable, not an active optical cable and not a 1-to-1 QSFP-DD straight cable. This is a refurbished unit.
Engineering Context
The MCP7H60-W003R26 uses 8x50G PAM4 lanes on the QSFP-DD end, splitting them into two QSFP56 ports each carrying 4x50G PAM4 lanes for 200Gb/s. As a passive copper assembly, it requires no power and adds zero latency from active electronics. 26AWG conductors balance reach and bend radius for top-of-rack deployments. Bit error rate is dependent on link FEC; the cable is rated for use with KP4 FEC enabled by default on supported switches and NICs. Insertion loss budget is consumed by the 3m run plus connector terminations.
Deployment & Use Cases
Top-of-Rack 400GbE QSFP-DD switch ports breaking out to two 200GbE servers in the same rack. Aggregating dual ConnectX-6 / ConnectX-7 200GbE adapters into a single high-radix switch port. Spine-to-leaf 200GbE links from a 400GbE QSFP-DD spine. Density-optimized cabling in AI/ML clusters where each compute node has 200GbE QSFP56.

Compatibility & Hard Constraints
Requires a switch port that supports QSFP-DD breakout to 2x 200GbE QSFP56 (e.g., NVIDIA Quantum-2 / Spectrum-3 platforms with breakout firmware enabled). Not compatible with 4x100GbE breakout configurations on the QSFP-DD side without different cable SKU. Both QSFP56 endpoints must be 200GbE-capable; this cable does not work as a 1-to-1 QSFP-DD straight cable. Passive copper at 3m with 26AWG; reach is fixed and cannot be extended. KP4 FEC is required for reliable operation. Not suitable for runs longer than 3m — for longer reach, an active or AOC variant is required.
