The cable is a fixed-length integrated assembly with internal redrivers in each connector for signal conditioning. This is not a passive DAC and not an Active Optical Cable. The MCA1J00-H004E carries 200Gb/s as 4 lanes of 50Gb/s PAM4 over copper twinax. At 4 meters, passive copper struggles to maintain PAM4 signal integrity, so the integrated redrivers re-equalize the signal at each end. ACC modules dissipate less power than AOC equivalents and are typically thinner and more flexible than 200G passive copper, easing routing in dense racks.
