Compatibility & Hard Constraints
InfiniBand QDR only — this cable operates at 40 Gb/s. It does NOT support FDR (56 Gb/s), EDR (100 Gb/s), HDR (200 Gb/s), or NDR (400 Gb/s) at native speeds. Connecting to FDR/EDR ports will result in negotiation down to QDR at best. QSFP connectors are the original QSFP standard (not QSFP+, QSFP28, or QSFP56). Passive copper at 0.5 m — fixed length, cannot be extended. For longer distances, use active optical cables or fiber with transceivers. Predecessor: DDR (20 Gb/s) cables.
