The host QSFP28 end aggregates 4 lanes at 25.78125 Gb/s NRZ (100 Gb/s total); each SFP28 branch carries one lane at 25 Gb/s (25GbE). As a passive cable it draws no power and adds negligible latency. Lane-mapping is fixed in the connector paddle cards, so each SFP28 branch is logically tied to one of the four QSFP28 lanes.
