What is the difference between this cable and a standard OSFP-to-QSFP112 breakout?

Most NDR200 breakout cables split from OSFP to QSFP112. The P55157-001 splits from OSFP to 4x OSFP. It is only required if your server NICs use OSFP ports instead of the more common QSFP112 ports.

Can I plug the breakout ends into a QSFP112 port?

No. The breakout ends are OSFP form factor, which is physically larger than QSFP112. They will not fit into QSFP cages. Verify your NIC's connector type before ordering.
