The SwitchX-2 ASIC delivers 1.92Tb/s of non-blocking switching capacity at full L2/L3 line rate. The 60-port aggregate (48×10GbE + 12×40GbE) totals 960Gb/s of edge bandwidth with the remainder reserved for fabric headroom. Port-to-port latency is approximately 220ns. Each QSFP+ port can be configured natively as 40GbE or split into 4×10GbE breakout, allowing up to 96 SFP+-equivalent 10GbE endpoints on a single rack unit. The PPC460 management plane runs MLNX-OS — NOT the newer Onyx OS — with CLI familiar to operators of earlier-generation Mellanox switches.
