The MSB7510-E2 is a Switch-IB 2 EDR InfiniBand leaf blade for the CS7500-series modular director chassis. It IS a modular line card with 36 QSFP28 ports at 100Gb/s EDR per port. It is NOT a 1U fixed-form switch (for that, see SB7800/SB7700), an Ethernet line card, or a spine blade — installs only as a leaf blade in a compatible Switch-IB 2 director chassis.
Engineering Context. Built on the Switch-IB 2 ASIC family, this leaf blade delivers 36 EDR ports × 100Gb/s = 3.6 Tb/s aggregate bandwidth per blade. Switch-IB 2 supports adaptive routing, congestion control, and SHARP (Scalable Hierarchical Aggregation and Reduction Protocol) for in-network collectives, which accelerates MPI all-reduce and similar collective operations on AI/HPC workloads. Sub-microsecond switching latency typical of Switch-IB 2.

Compatibility & Constraints. Installs in CS7500-series Switch-IB 2 director chassis only. Will NOT fit Spectrum Ethernet chassis, Quantum HDR/NDR switches, or fixed 1U form factors such as SB7800/SB7700. Requires a director chassis with management modules and PSUs to function — not a standalone switch. Pair with EDR-capable QSFP28 cables (MCP1600 series DACs or MFA1A00 AOCs).
