Identity & Definition
This enterprise InfiniBand passive copper cable, the NVIDIA Mellanox MCP4Y10-N001-FLT, is a 1-meter passive Direct Attach Copper (DAC) cable designed for 800Gb/s InfiniBand NDR connections using OSFP Flat-Top (non-RHS) connectors. This is an InfiniBand NDR cable, not an Ethernet cable. This is the Flat-Top variant — for RHS (Riding Heat Sink) ports, see MCP4Y10-N001. Condition: NEW.
Engineering Context
At 1 meter, passive copper provides the lowest possible latency and highest reliability for 800G NDR links. With no internal electronics (no retimers, no amplifiers), the MCP4Y10-N001-FLT is a pure electrical path consuming zero power. The OSFP Flat-Top connector is designed for NDR ports that do not use finned-top heat sinks. 800G passive copper uses 4x 200G PAM4 lanes per direction, and the thicker wire gauge (lower AWG) required for 800G results in a stiffer cable best suited for straight, short-distance paths within the same rack.
Deployment & Use Cases
In-rack switch-to-NIC connections in Quantum-2 NDR InfiniBand fabrics. Switch-to-switch ISL links within the same rack for NVIDIA Quantum-2 QM9700 switches. GPU node interconnects in AI/ML training clusters using ConnectX-7 NDR adapters. HPC supercomputing environments requiring zero-latency interconnects between adjacent nodes.

Compatibility & Hard Constraints
InfiniBand NDR Only: This cable is designed for InfiniBand NDR fabrics. Platform firmware must support InfiniBand NDR. OSFP Flat-Top Only: Not compatible with OSFP RHS (Riding Heat Sink / finned-top) cages. For RHS ports, use MCP4Y10-N001. Not a Breakout Cable: This is a straight 1-to-1 OSFP cable. Cable Stiffness: 800G passive copper is thicker and stiffer than lower-speed DACs. Best for straight, unobstructed paths. Avoid sharp bends and cable management arms. Predecessor: 200G HDR passive DACs (MCP1650 series). Successor: Future NDR400/XDR cables.
