NVIDIA Mellanox® MCP1660-W001 (NVIDIA P/N 980-9I35O-00W001) is a passive copper Direct Attach Cable (DAC) for 400GbE Ethernet point-to-point links. It IS a 1:1 QSFP-DD to QSFP-DD DAC; it IS NOT a splitter, breakout cable, or InfiniBand cable, and it IS NOT an active or optical cable. Condition: New.

Engineering Context. The cable carries 8 lanes of 50Gb/s PAM4 across QSFP-DD on both ends, conformant with IEEE 802.3cd 400GBASE-CR8 short-reach copper Ethernet. This SKU is the 1m, 30AWG variant. As a passive copper DAC it draws no host power for the cable assembly itself and adds negligible latency.

Deployment & Use Cases. Top-of-rack and middle-of-row 400GbE links between Spectrum-3 / Spectrum-4 switches and 400GbE-capable NICs (e.g., ConnectX-6 Dx, ConnectX-7 in Ethernet mode) within the same rack. Typical workloads: AI training fabric Ethernet uplinks, GPU server cluster aggregation, and east-west traffic between leaf and spine switches over short copper runs.
