Engineering context. The on-board BlueField-2 SoC combines eight Armv8 A72 cores with the ConnectX-6 Dx network ASIC and 16 GB of DDR4 ECC memory, allowing the card to run an embedded Linux distribution independently of the host operating system. The two QSFP56 cages each carry one 100GbE Ethernet port. The PCIe Gen 4.0 x16 host interface delivers up to 31.5 GB/s of raw I/O bandwidth to the server. On this CENOT variant, hardware crypto acceleration is disabled. E-Series boards integrate an on-board management controller for lights-out provisioning of the embedded ARM subsystem.

Software stack: NVIDIA DOCA SDK, MLNX_OFED, and the BlueField Board Support Package; the host can run Ubuntu, RHEL, SLES, or other supported Linux distributions, and the embedded Arm subsystem ships with Ubuntu. Power and slot: requires a PCIe Gen 4.0 x16 slot in a server able to deliver adapter power per PCIe CEM specification — verify on the server vendor's QVL. Thermal: passive heatsink, requires managed front-to-back airflow; not suitable for workstation chassis without server-grade cooling. Hardware IPsec and TLS offload is NOT available on the CENOT variant; software paths or a CEEOT-suffixed SKU are required for those workloads. E-Series boards have an on-board BMC; if your environment provisions BlueField-2 strictly through host-side tooling, the matching P-Series part may be a better fit.
