Compatibility & Hard Constraints

The Intel DC P4500 J30903-101 requires a U.2 NVMe-capable drive bay with SFF-8639 connector or a U.2-to-PCIe adapter card. It does NOT work in SATA backplanes, SAS backplanes, or M.2 slots. The 2.5-inch variant has a 15mm z-height, which does NOT fit standard 7mm 2.5-inch bays — verify chassis clearance before deployment. The DC P4500 is a legacy Intel series now discontinued; current-generation successors include the Solidigm D7-P5510 and D7-P5520 (PCIe Gen4).
