Identity & Definition
This enterprise NVMe solid-state drive is the Intel 750 Series 400GB U.2 NVMe SSD (H58397-204), a refurbished 2.5-inch PCIe storage device sold by T.E.S IT-SOLUTIONS. The Intel 750 Series is a prosumer/workstation-class NVMe SSD built on the same controller platform as the Intel DC P3600 enterprise drive, but with client-oriented firmware and lower endurance ratings. This is NOT a SATA drive, NOT a SAS drive, and NOT a fully enterprise-rated SSD. Condition: Refurbished — tested and verified by T.E.S IT-SOLUTIONS.
Engineering Context
The Intel 750 Series 400GB (H58397-204) delivers sequential read throughput up to 2,200 MB/s and sequential write throughput up to 900 MB/s over its PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe interface. Random 4K read performance reaches up to 430,000 IOPS and random 4K write performance reaches up to 230,000 IOPS. The drive uses Intel-Micron 20nm MLC NAND flash with read/write latency of approximately 20 µs. Endurance is rated at 219 TBW (approximately 70 GB writes per day over 5 years). Active power consumption is 12W with 4W at idle. The 750 Series was Intel's first consumer/prosumer NVMe SSD, preceding the Intel 760p and Solidigm P44 Pro.
Deployment & Use Cases
The Intel 750 Series 400GB is deployed in workstation storage for content creation, engineering simulation, and CAD/CAM workloads where NVMe throughput eliminates SATA bottlenecks. It serves as a high-performance server boot drive in environments where full enterprise endurance (DC P3600/P3700 class) is not required. Common deployments include CI/CD build systems, development servers, VMware ESXi boot volumes, and ZFS ZIL/SLOG devices in NAS appliances. The 400GB capacity point is appropriate for OS partitions, application binaries, and working-set caching rather than bulk data storage.

Compatibility & Hard Constraints
The Intel 750 Series H58397-204 requires a U.2 NVMe-capable drive bay with SFF-8639 connector or a U.2-to-PCIe adapter card. It does NOT work in SATA backplanes, SAS backplanes, or M.2 slots. The 2.5-inch variant has a 15mm z-height, which does NOT fit standard 7mm 2.5-inch bays — verify chassis clearance before deployment. The 750 Series is also available in HHHL add-in card form factor under different part numbers (SSDPEDMW400G4). The 750 Series is discontinued by Intel; current-generation successors include the Solidigm P44 Pro (consumer) and Solidigm D7 series (enterprise). The 750 Series firmware is client-optimized and does NOT include enterprise features such as power-state transitioning or multi-namespace support found in the DC P3600/P3700.
