Engineering Context
The AMP01-RSIM is one half of an active/active controller pair in the MD3000i. It carries 512 MB of mirrored battery-backed write cache, a 6.0 Gb/s SAS-2 backplane connection to the drive shelf, and an out-of-band Ethernet management port. Multipath failover is provided by Dell's MPIO driver on the host. Voltage range is 110–240V multi-supply via the chassis.

Compatibility & Hard Constraints
Compatible only with the Dell PowerVault MD3000i chassis. Not interchangeable with the SAS-attached MD3000 controller (different host transport) or the Fibre-Channel MD3000FC. Will not work in MD3200i, MD3220i, or MD3600i — those use a different controller generation. Two RSIMs are required for active/active redundancy; a single module yields a non-redundant array. Firmware must match the partner controller before bringing the array online.
