It is a hot-swappable blade module that requires an SX65XX chassis for power, management, and backplane fabric. This is an InfiniBand module, not an Ethernet device. Condition: Refurbished.
Engineering Context
Each of the 18 QSFP+ ports operates at FDR-10 InfiniBand (40 Gb/s), using 4x 10 Gb/s lanes per port. FDR-10 is a Mellanox-proprietary speed tier positioned between QDR (32 Gb/s) and full FDR (56 Gb/s). The SwitchX-2 ASIC provides wire-speed non-blocking switching with sub-microsecond port-to-port latency. In a typical SX65XX deployment, multiple MSX6001TS leaf blades connect to compute nodes on the front panel while spine blades provide the backplane interconnect between leaves. The SX65XX chassis and SwitchX-2 architecture have been superseded by the Quantum (HDR) and Quantum-2 (NDR) modular switch families.

Compatibility & Hard Constraints
NOT standalone: the MSX6001TS requires an SX6506 or SX6512 modular chassis. It cannot operate independently; the chassis provides power, cooling, management plane, and backplane fabric. FDR-10 only (40 Gb/s), this is NOT full FDR (56 Gb/s). Full FDR endpoints connected to this blade will negotiate down to FDR-10 speeds. Legacy product: the SX65XX chassis has been superseded by Quantum (HDR, CS7500) and Quantum-2 (NDR, CS7520). The MSX6001TS is appropriate for maintaining existing deployments, not for new fabric builds. Subnet Manager required: InfiniBand requires OpenSM or NVIDIA UFM running on a management host. QSFP+ connectors are physically compatible with QSFP28 ports, but speed is limited to FDR-10 (40 Gb/s).
