Engineering Context
The MIS5030Q is built on the InfiniScale IV ASIC and delivers 2.88Tb/s of aggregate non-blocking switching across 36 QSFP ports at 40Gb/s QDR each. Sub-100ns port-to-port cut-through latency is typical for this generation. The on-board Chassis Manager handles unit-level operations — sensor telemetry, port LED state, fan and PSU monitoring, image upgrade — but it is not a Subnet Manager. Subnet routing, partitioning and SA queries still require an external OpenSM running on a host or another switch in the fabric that hosts a Subnet Manager. The 1BRC build is the single-PSU variant; pair it with the 2BRC if redundant power is required.
