NVIDIA Mellanox MSX1410-BB2F2 SwitchX-2 1U Open Ethernet Switch — 48× SFP+ + 12× QSFP+: This is a 1U top-of-rack open Ethernet switch based on the Mellanox SwitchX-2 ASIC, with 48 SFP+ ports operating at up to 10GbE and 12 QSFP+ ports operating at up to 40GbE (also usable as 4×10GbE breakout). This is a managed Layer 2/3 data-center switch; it is NOT an unmanaged or InfiniBand-only switch.
Engineering context. The SwitchX-2 silicon delivers a non-blocking 1.92Tb/s switching capacity and approximately 1.4Bpps forwarding rate. The MSX1410-BB2F2 ships with an x86 quad-core control-plane processor, dual hot-swappable AC power supplies for redundancy, hot-swappable fan trays with P2C (port-to-connector) airflow, and runs MLNX-OS for management. Compatibility & constraints. SFP+ cages support 10GbE/1GbE optics, DACs, and AOCs (no SFP28 25GbE — that requires Spectrum-class hardware). QSFP+ cages support 40GbE optics and DACs and 4×10GbE breakout with breakout cables; they do NOT support 100GbE QSFP28. Airflow direction is fixed P2C — verify rack airflow polarity before installation. Switch ships with the originally-installed MLNX-OS image; subscription-based feature updates from NVIDIA require a separate license.
