The Scorpion3 is an InfiniBand-only fabric switch with 36 QSFP28 ports operating at EDR (100Gb/s per port), using the Mellanox Switch-IB 2 ASIC. This is an unmanaged switch — it has no operating system, no CLI, and no web interface. This is NOT an Ethernet switch. Condition: New.
Engineering Context
The Scorpion3 SS-SCORPION3 delivers 7.2Tb/s aggregate switching capacity across 36 QSFP28 EDR ports with approximately 130ns port-to-port latency. The Switch-IB 2 ASIC supports SHARP (Scalable Hierarchical Aggregation and Reduction Protocol) for in-network compute — a key feature for MPI collective operations in HPC workloads. "Unmanaged" means the Scorpion3 forwards InfiniBand packets at wire speed with zero configuration overhead. A Subnet Manager (OpenSM or UFM) must run on one of the connected hosts or on a separate management node. The P2C airflow direction draws air from the connector side to the power supply side.

Compatibility & Hard Constraints
The Scorpion3 SS-SCORPION3 is InfiniBand only — it does NOT support Ethernet in any configuration. For Ethernet switching, use the NVIDIA Spectrum series (SN2100, SN3700, MSN4700). The Scorpion3 supports EDR (100Gb/s) maximum per port — it does NOT support HDR (200Gb/s) or NDR (400Gb/s). For HDR, use the Quantum QM8700. For NDR, use the Quantum-2 QM9700. The switch is unmanaged — a Subnet Manager (OpenSM or UFM) must run on a connected host or management node. The P2C airflow draws from connector to power side. All connected devices must be InfiniBand HCAs (ConnectX-4/5/6/7 in IB or VPI mode).
