This enterprise InfiniBand-to-Ethernet gateway appliance, the NVIDIA Mellanox MSX6036G-2SFS, is a 1U SwitchX-2-based gateway that bridges InfiniBand and Ethernet networks with 36 QSFP+ ports configurable for FDR InfiniBand (56Gb/s) or 40GbE Ethernet. This is a gateway (protocol translation device), not a standard switch. Ships with dual AC PSUs and P2C airflow. Condition: NEW.
Engineering Context
The MSX6036G performs hardware-level protocol translation between InfiniBand and Ethernet, allowing InfiniBand-connected compute nodes to communicate with Ethernet-connected storage or management systems. The SwitchX-2 ASIC natively supports both protocols. Each of the 36 QSFP+ ports delivers FDR 56Gb/s (IB) or 40GbE (Eth) with sub-microsecond switching latency.
