  • Standard Ethernet: This specific part is keyed and programmed for InfiniBand SDR/DDR/QDR/FDR/EDR/HDR/NDR protocols. It generally does not support standard Ethernet negotiation without specific firmware overrides.
  • QSFP28 Ports: The target ends are QSFP56 (HDR). While physically similar to QSFP28, they require PAM4 signaling support which older 100G hardware may not provide.

 

🌡️ Thermal & Handling Guidelines

  • Bend Radius: As an optical cable, maintain a minimum bend radius of 30mm during installation to prevent micro-bends in the fiber which can cause signal attenuation.
  • OSFP Cooling: The OSFP connector dissipates heat generated by the internal signal processing (DSP/Laser). Ensure the switch port has adequate airflow (C2P/P2C matching the environment).
  • Connector Orientation: The OSFP connector is keyed. Do not force insertion. The "pull-tab" mechanism is robust but should be used gently to disengage the locking mechanism before removal.
